Service Project

Sus Manos Gleaners
(February 13, 2021, 8:30AM-10:30)

Sus Manos Gleaners is an organization that takes surplus fruits and vegetables and then dehydrates them. The dehydrated product is mixed into soup bases and fruit servings and is shipped all over the world to Christian ministries, who use this food to feed hungry people. So the surplus we have here in West Michigan can become essential food for others less fortunate then us.

The part where we can help is in getting food washed, chopped, and prepared for the dehydrating process. To that end, we have an opportunity for a Rush creek service project on November 28th, 2020.  This also happens to be Thanksgiving weekend – what a way to show our thanks for all God’s wonderful gifts by with which we are so richly blessed and help out many others who do not have it as good as us.

So, the service project will be November 28th, 8:30 to 10:30 AM, just two short hours of our time can help feed people all over the world!  To make it even easier, Sus Manos Gleaners is located in a warehouse at 2464 Wilshere Drive in Jenison, near the corner of Chicago Drive and Port Sheldon Road.  Right in our own collective backyards!

So, if you and/or your Cadet Club are interested in attending, let me know at or before  February 5.  We need to provide a number to them one week prior to the event.

Thank you for considering this, and I hope to see you there!
